Baldur is the god of innocence, beauty, joy, purity, and peace, and is Odin's second son. Friendly, wise, elegant, he is loved by both gods and men, and is considered one of the greatest of the Aesir. His wife is called Nanna and his son is known as Forseti. Baldur is the son of Odin and Frigga, and is easily the most beautiful of the gods. Baldur lives an idyllic life, though he has many ominous dreams. It is said that Baldur can not be harmed by any means.

Balder's religion has two facets. One teaches that the mental and emotional state achieved while creating beautiful objects brings the artist closer to the gods. It also teaches that the gods deserve reverence and gratitude as the sources of artistic inspiration. The other facet teaches that out of great tragedy comes new growth, new oppertunity, and new hope for the future. It focuses on renewal and rebirth by reminding mortals that even the beautiful and beloved Balder had to suffer in order to become a god when the cycles changed. Baldur's worshipers teach acceptance of fate, but in their case, they try to accept it with a smile and laughter.
